Taking The Minions on Holiday

About taking the Minions on Holiday

Children's Stories: Taking The Minions on Holiday 1This story started off as a joke. My daughter went on holiday to Teneriffe with her now-husband. She had mentioned taking the minions with her. I had assumed she meant one of her old toys—which I thought was odd considering her age.

A day or so into her holiday, I saw the minions in their usual place and asked my lady wife why Beth hadn’t taken them. She pointed out that Beth meant the DVD of the film “The Minions!” Silly me.

During that week, we went on a coach trip to Oxford. I took the little minion to take some fun photos for my daughter. Six years later, they have been comicfied—my new word—and now form this story.

Big Minion comforted his friend…

I know she said she was going to take the Minions on holiday.

…explaining how far Tenerife was.

Little Minion went to find Tenerife…

…and tried to hitch a lift.

A Taxi driver saw Little Minion and…

…kindly drove him to the coach station.

Little Minion got on the first coach…

…and looked for a seat.

There was a big empty one…

…at the back. So Little Minion buckled up.

After getting off the coach…

…he found a tree and started searching.

A young girl helped him look…

…over a very high wall.

A tall man asked if he could help…

…carrying Little Minion to a quiet spot.

Where the tired Minion thought…

…and had a snooze on a shaded wall.

Back on his travels…

Children's Stories: Taking The Minions on Holiday 20

…Little Minion saw a group of ladies.

They wanted a photo, and he asked…

…Finally a clue, Little Minion thought.

Little Minion found the river…

Children's Stories: Taking The Minions on Holiday 24

…and climbed into a rowing boat.

But he couldn’t reach the oars…

Children's Stories: Taking The Minions on Holiday 26

…so he walked further down the river.

Where he noticed a motor boat…

…but he couldn’t see out of the cockpit.

Climbing onto the control panel…

Children's Stories: Taking The Minions on Holiday 30

…he realised he wouldn’t get very far.

So he got back onto a coach…

Children's Stories: Taking The Minions on Holiday 32

…and decided to go home to his friends.

The kind taxi driver met him and…

Who had a big surprise…

Day Out at Fishers Farm Park

Day Trip to Fishers Farm Park Collage

About Fishers Farm Park…

Being Grandpa visited Fishers Farm Park with Evie (3) and Maisie (1). Our day out was paid for by ourselves, and this is an independent review of the adventure park.

The park delivers a fantastic day out for parents and grandparents with younger children. Even in inclement weather, many indoor activities keep youngsters happy.

Maisie enjoyed a few rides with mummy and daddy a week before her first birthday—oh, and grandpa. Being under two, she got in for free.

As for Evie, she could not experience all there was to offer at Fishers Farm Park. After all, she is only three—we visited for her third birthday. Anyhow, she had a full day of adventure. Whether petting the animals or playing in the play areas, Evie enjoyed herself. As for the carousel, the teacups and the other rides, she loved them all.

See how our fun day out unfolded or continue with the review.

Review of Fishers Farm Park Continued.

More on this great day out…

Do you remember when you were a young child and the funfair visited? The excitement on Evie’s face at the site of the rides brought back memories of such times. Her reaction as she rode them was that of sheer delight.

Yes, some of the rides are for very young children, but the mix of offerings for all ages is perfect—something for everyone. Perhaps something is the wrong word, as there is plenty to do for all ages.

One hit with both of the grandchildren was the tractor and trailer ride. Sat in the back of a large trailer, you are driven around the farm, seeing plenty of animals. It can get a little bumpy, but that adds to the enjoyment.

Evie loved the new Glow Barn with its sensory lights and bubble lamps—bubble lamp, perhaps a present for the future? She also enjoyed the indoor Big Top Play Barn.

The new (opened in 2020) Fishers Fun Fair soft play and seating area is within the barn. A relaxing place for parents to sit with a drink while watching the young play in a safe environment.

I mentioned drinks. Fishers Farm Park has plenty of spaces to eat and drink, including numerous picnic tables and an indoor barn for those with packed lunches on cold or rainy days. They also have five places that sell food and drink, though two are date-dependent.

I could write more about our great day out or what Fishers Farm Park can offer your children. But you can visit their website to see all of this. So I will end this small review by saying I will be going again, and soon. . I think that says it all.

Being Grandpa is Being a Pillow

Being a grandpa. is being…

Being Grandpa is Being a Pillow

…a pillow for tired grandchildren.

Sometimes only one grandchild…

…is asleep, the other having fun.

Sometimes neither is asleep…

Children's Stories: Being Grandpa is Being a Pillow 71

…but grandpa is still a pillow.

Young grandchildren need…

…lots and lots of cuddles.

And older grandchildren…

Being a grandpa is being a pillow when the children are tired.

…might want to join in.

However, at times…

…they want you all to themselves.

From a few days old…

Children's Stories: Being Grandpa is Being a Pillow 78

…grandpas start being a pillow.

Watching over as…

…the baby sleeps.

As they get older, their friends…

…might join you for a cuddle.

You can be a pillow anywhere…

…sat on a floor while they watch TV.

Or out and about…

With Evie in Chichester,

…when someone gets tired

Being a grandpa pillow…
